Asher Silberstein Elementary School

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to a new school year at Asher Silberstein Elementary School. I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself, my name is Claudia Stitt and I joined the Siberstein  family as the School Counselor at the beginning of August 2019.  I am so happy to be here and be a part of such a wonderful school and community! I’m passionate about is talking to, connecting with, and helping young people. I would like the students here to think of my office as a warm and friendly place, where they are always welcome, a place where they can get help if they feel confused or worried.

Silberstein  is a great school, but that doesn’t mean that our students won’t face challenges while they are here. I would like your children to know that there is always an adult at the school who will be on their side.

As a School Counselor, my primary responsibility is to promote the academic, personal, and social development of all students.  I look forward to offering support to the students, staff, families and community.

Services Provided

As the Counselor, I have the privilege to work with every single student in the school. I plan on working with students at the classroom level, small group level, as well as at the short-term individual counseling level. I will also be meeting with parents, collaborating with teachers and staff, and consulting with community organizations to benefit and meet the needs of all Silberstein students.

CLASSROOM GUIDANCE LESSONS: These lessons will be presented in the classroom for students in grades K-5  Lessons will teach developmentally appropriate, preventative lessons to all children.

GROUP COUNSELING: Group counseling is provided for small groups of students experiencing similar concerns. These may include making and keeping friends, anger management, coping with separation/divorce and or loss, getting organized/study skills and/or improving self-esteem. The groups generally range from 4 to 6 students and last for 6 to 8 sessions. The students for these groups can be recommended by parents/guardians, teachers or by staff members.

INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING: Short term one-on-one counseling support is available to all students in grades K to 6. Students may self-refer or be referred to the counselors by teachers/staff and/or parents. Confidentiality is respected.

CONSULTATIONS: I am available to have meetings with teachers, administrators and/or parents to discuss the needs of individual students. I am here for all students and want to ensure that your child has a productive and positive school year. If I can support your child in anyway, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Any student can request to meet with me or they can be referred by a teacher, administrator, or parent.  I encourage you to reach out if you have concerns regarding your child.

Confidentiality

Please note that all information discussed is confidential between me and your child, unless they are planning on hurting themselves, hurting someone else or someone is hurting them.

Bienvenidos a un nuevo año escolar en Asher Silberstein escuela primaria. Me gustaría tomar esta oportunidad para presentarme, mi nombre es Claudia Stitt y me incorpore a la familia de Silberstein como  consejera escolar a principios de agosto 2019. Estoy muy feliz de estar aquí y ser parte de esta maravillosa escuela y comunidad! Me apasiona hablar, conectarme y ayudar a gente joven. Me gustaría que los estudiantes  aquí piensen de mi oficina como un lugar cálido y amistoso, un lugar donde ellos siempre seran bienvenidos, un lugar donde pueden obtener ayuda si se sienten confundidos o preocupados.

Silberstein es una excelente escuela. Pero esto no significa que nuestros estudiantes no se enfrentarán con dificultades mientras están aquí. Me gustaría que sus niños sepan que aquí hay siempre un adulto en la escuela quien estará a su lado.

Como consejera escolar, mi principal responsabilidad es promover el desarrollo  académico, personal, y social de todos los estudiantes. Es mi deseo poder ofrecer apoyo a los estudiantes, personal de la escuela, familias y comunidad.

 

Services Provided

Como consejera tengo el privilegio de trabajar con cada estudiante en la escuela. Planeo trabajar con estudiantes en el salon, grupos pequeños. Como también en término corto consejería individual. Además, me estaré reuniendo con los padres, colaborando con los maestros y personal. Y consultando con organizaciones de la comunidad para beneficiar y alcanzar las necesidades de los estudiantes de Silberstein.

 

Lecciones guiadas en el salón: Estas lecciones serán presentadas en el salón para los estudiantes en los grados pre-K -5to. La lecciones son apropiadamente desarrolladas y preventivas para todos los niños.

 

Consejería en grupo: Consejería en grupo se proporciona para grupos pequeños que experimentan preocupaciones similares. Esto puede incluir haciendo y manteniendo amigos, control de la ira, enfrentando una separación/divorcio y la pérdida de un ser querido, o mascota, organizarse/ hábitos de estudio y mejorando la autoestima. Los grupos generalmente son entre 4 a 6 estudiantes y duran entre 6 a 8 sesiones. Los estudiantes para estos grupos pueden ser recomendados por los padres/tutores, maestros o personal de la escuela.

 

Consejería Individual: Apoyo de consejería en periodo corto está disponible para todos los estudiantes en los grados  pre-K- 5to. Los estudiantes pueden auto referirse o ser referidos a la consejera a través de sus maestros/ personal y padres. Confidencialidad es respetada.

 

Consultas: Estoy disponible para tener reuniones con maestros, administradores y padres para discutir las necesidades individuales de los estudiantes. Estoy aquí para todos los estudiantes y quiero asegurar que su niño tenga un año escolar  productivo y positivo. Si puedo apoyar a su niño/a de cualquier forma, por favor no dude en contactarme.

Cualquier estudiante puede reunirse conmigo o pueden ser referido por su maestro, administrador, o padres. Le animo a que se comunique conmigo si tiene cualquier preocupación acerca de su niño/a.

 

Confidencialidad
 

Por favor note que toda la información discutida es confidencial entre mi y su niño/a, al menos que ellos estén planeando en lastimarse ellos mismos, lastimar a otros, o alguien los está lastimando.
